Well here we are again. And what an adventure life has been! I currently lead an awesome

here in YWAM Perth!

Here's my recent blog of the school and how Music affects us.

OH MUSIC...
why is it such a beautiful thing?
Music is the language of the world. It penetrates closed hearts. It moves the immovable. It can soften the hardest of the hard. Music is essential to life and echoes the heartbeats of young and old alike. It expresses our intimacy and reveals our worship. Music enhances, completes, comforts and challenges us.

Furthermore, did you know that all music began in Heaven? The sounds of our various cultures reflect His unique celebration and love for diversity. Whether we sing, play an instrument, or creatively communicate sounds, it is our response and our reflection of the Heavenly Father.

In preparing to share the good news worldwide it is essential to use music! This what the Music DTS is all about. Knowing and usderstanding the heart of God and using Music to communicate him to the world! Does that sound exciting to you? Well it doesn't stop there.

This year we have numerous people coming from different nations and bringing their cultures and styles of music and worship to our school. It will be an incredible mix of talents and personalities - it will be a dynamic adventure and I welcome you come!

SportsDTS, wedding and life...

Hey well it's been a bit but I'm still alive and kicking and actively perusing God in
my calling here in Perth. I've been staffing the Sports Discipleship Training School which has been going well. It's all about knowing God and making God known in the context of using our skills in sports to glorify God.

I wish I had photos from the school but I don't sorry, I'll have to work out that. All the excitingness of outreach is coming up - we are off to Thailand, Burma and Western Australia (a place called Port headland)

World Youth Day...

Well a team of 6 of us (5 left from Perth and 1 in Syd) served in the WYD08 in Sydney last week. 100's of thousands of young people from around the globe met together over the course of a week to worship Jesus. We were part of a volunteer group with other y.wamer's to serve the event. It was great to meet other young people from around aussie too and get to work with them, lots of fun.

Here's me all with the kit on the Sat night.. very official. (I wasen't even suposed to be on marshalling but we ended up helping cuz they didnt need any more caterer's. and i didnt need the walkie talkie either but.. it was fun)

I also had a good time meeting and encouraging young Catholics. The theme of the event is Acts1:8...

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

I really felt like this came across really strongly over the week, God was present and moving. The Pope spoke very well on this subject too, emphasising the importance of the Holy Spirit in eva.ngelism.

Birthday Celebrations and Holiday

Hey friends..

Well life is going well in my 20's. yes that's right 13 days ago today I turned from my teenage ways and moved into a new era of my life - in fact a whole new decade.

Well my life's been intense over these past 3 months but what an amazing, exciting eventful journey it's been. God's challenged me in alot of ways and I love what He's doing in my life.

J-City was a really fruitful place to go to. We saw people really changed and I'm so encouraged to be apart of it..

NEPAL

Well I'm living in the land of the cold for the next month! That's me on top of what I would call a mountain but they call it a "foothill" campared with the Himalaya's! You can't see there but the Himalaya's are acutally behind the "foothills" behind me. They are amazing. The cold isn't that bad, icy cold showers arn't the best though. A nice cup of amazing Nepalese tea generally sorts me out.

The ministry here is amazing. So so open. We've seen over 30 saved and many healed too - and we've only been here a week! He's really moving and it's exciting to be apart of the harvest.

So this is me carrying a bunch of fire wood. Very very heavy wood. The woman in the photo carry the wood everyday down a steep vally path. It's crazy.

Nepal is literally in the 1200's in some places. There are clay houses and farm animals everywhere. This one slum area we went to was so poor. The photo below is of woman washing themselves and their families' clothes in a very dirty river near their homes.

Hunger is common in lots of places in Nepal too. Unfortunately the outside appearance is very reflective of what's going on in their spiritual lives. Idols are everywhere, there is so much confusion. It's so sad. This is a temple we visited to pray in. The people at the base of Budda were bowing down. Sometimes I just don't understand. It's a golden idol that they built - just like in the old testiment. We all know what G.od thinks of that.

Oh yeah the people here call this temple the "monkey temple" because there are so many monkeys that live there! Here are a monkey's family that we literally had to fend off so we could eat our lunch!

I'm not lying - at one stage there were 20+ monkeys surrounding us while we were doing intercession. they looked like they were planning an attack so I decided it might be better to spilt into groups so we dont attract a crowd. kinda scary though.

All in all things are going well. The tea is also a definate highlight.

At chur.ches we say "joy/victory to the Messi.ah" in Nepalese when we greet people so:

"joimasih!"

Openess in J City...

Hey all

Here's a quick testimony from the team.

Well the other day we went into a slum area in the city. We saw it on our sheet as a slum area so we thought why not go there and see. So we got in 3 taxi's and told the cab driver to take us there. We just walked through the place, meeting people and trying to find the need for this area.

To my surprise, not only were the children so excited to see white people but they also started to follow us! It wasn't long before we had 50 kids around us!

On our way home we also met a lady who had a disability and we spoke about the need with her. Little did we know she was connected to a disabled people association and they were having their annual meeting the next day!

We went back the next day after p.rayer and seeking the Lor.d for these people. one of our girls took some people to go to their annual meeting and doors just flew open. She, and some others were able to p.ray for many and they saw a few get better that day too!

Meanwhile God had spoke to another one of our girls the night before about washing woman's feet in the slum area. Her, and two others started with just one or two older woman and that just blew open doors all over the place. They were able to share why they were doing this and were able to have full one-on-one sharing with a translator to many woman. Then these woman started asking for pr.ayer for all kinds of things. They were crying because they were being so bless.ed!

The rest of us heard from Go.d about doing games with the kids and doing face painting. We had an amazing time of simply loving on all the kids.

A thing that really stood out to me about this day is how bles.ed the parents were when we bl.ess the kids.

Another awesome encouragement is that their were quite a lot of Chri.stians that came out with us and many of them were real encouraged. I prayed for a guy who was partially blind with one of the translators from the chur.ch. She saw this guy get partially better and was so encouraged. She had never done anything like that before and was really blown away!

The day was gold.

Well friends I'm leaving Perth...

For the next 3 months I'll be in some very different places: the capital city in Indo starting with J and Katmandu in Nepa.l. Very exciting.

There's been some pretty significant things happening in my life if you haven't already heard; heres a quick run-down...

I said in my last blog that the next time I blog is when all my finances come in well - Praise the Lord: they all came in! All Au$4750! our locations changed a little too (obviously) which is great.

Christmas away from home was different but really great still. Not exactly like being at home but still a really fun time. I played sax for the base and on a Carol by Candlelight open air that we had with 100's of people from the Perth community. Everyone really enjoyed it. I wish I could post the video but i already packed it away.. here's a photo anyway..

We had a few great get-together's on Christmas.. we had a "Christmas tree decorating" party which was really fun.. here's the final product:

Here's something slightly off topic but was some good memories.. Carissa, Jason and I on Carissa's birthday we had a little while ago. They're from my DTS. Good times, great friends..

Well I can safely say I'm lock and loaded for our out.reach and I can't wait to see what God's going to do in and through me and the team. Here's everyone on the ODTS...

Outreach Emerging...

Dear friends

I'm in week 8 now of the October DTS and things are definately picking up momentum. I'm excited about what God's doing in the students (spiritual open heart surgery for many!) and also embracing what he's doing in my life too. I'm learning more each day in how to operate as an effective leader in blessing, serving and encourging those I'm convering.

A big task infront of me at the moment is trusting God for out.reach funds which are due on the 12th of December. I still need NZ$3633 to come in. Myself and one other are leading a team of 10 to Ja.karta and Ne.pal for a total of 3 months. (2 in Jaka.rta and just under 1 in Ne.pal)

There's a very significant need for me to stand, fight and trust God for every last cent of these funds at the moment. I know the next time I blog will be when these finances come in, so in faith I've already recieved them but please please pray for me when you read this because... yes your prayer works!

I was thinking about it and ultimately the out.reach $ is not actually for me - it's for me to go. To go and bless these nations. As a team, we are very confident and excited that God is going to work and move in amazing, creative ways. We are trusting him together for miracles in Ja.karta and in Nepa.l.

Summer in Perth...

Things are going amazing here in Perth. We are in week 5 of our Discipleship Training School that I am staffing. Our topics so far have been, Nature & Character of God, Repentance & forgiveness, Hearing God's voice, Spiritual Warfare and this week on Lordship. I love watching and walking alongside the students as they grow and apply the life-lessons they are learning.

Northern Ireland and trip home...

That's me outside a little stone church we worked with called "St Marys" built in the 1400's sometime! The church is in a little town in the West of Northern Ireland called Kesh. The town itself has a few thousand people and we stayed there for 10 days, working with the church and the community.

On our day off we drove to the west coast cliffs in Ireland. It was windy and cold but we found a whole lot of sheep and chased them all day. We also found a small castle fort thing, climbed it and then chased sheep again. They were really hard to catch man.. mountain sheep (I think they were trained)

This is all of us on our last day there. Good times meeting the community in schools, bars, shops, church, on the streets, everywhere and sharing about who Jesus is and what he has done for us and for the people there. We had the oppotunity of sharing in a high-school assembly of 800 and a primary school of 250. The young people were fun, we were able to chat and impact their lives too. I was very blessed staying there and I'm sure the people in Kesh were encouraged too.. bless you guys!

Spain... 07

That's me at a bull fight in Bilbao - they love their bull fights. I might not go into detail about what happens, but can say that's it's pretty bloody and I probably won't go to one again - although I definately enjoyed the experience.

I thought I´d begin with a story about one of the strangest things that´s happened to me in a long time...

The other day we had a night free and decided to go to the beach. We found a nice empty area and sat down to look at the stars. After a relaxing 20mins of star gazing we hear some dogs begin to bark. 'No worries', I thought, they were far in the distance. Strangely though, the barking became louder and louder and much much mnore frequent. I just thought maby some other dogs had joined in on the barking symphony. All of a sudden we notice a glowing red light of a cigarette moving up and down in the distance.. a man was approaching us from the darkness of the rocks behind us. 'Well that´s nice', I thought, 'a man is out walking his dog'... But then it happened. We see a homeless man appear with one... two... then five.. and no sooner do I realise but none less than 20 dogs were almost surrounding us on the rocks! We were on their teritory and they were mad. 20 mad barking dogs against 2 guys and 3 girls was not good. would you be scared?

Anyway, the man completely ignored us and continued on his way with his gang of dogs behind him. We all stood in shock. How random.

Our last official day in Spain was about a week ago. Spain is a great country and we´ve seen God move in a number of really amazing ways. I may have told you this already but the other week I lead a guy to Lord which was incredible. We´ve spoken to hundreds of people one-on-one about who God is and what Jesus has done for them. I personally have really enjoyed going out and evangelising on the streets in Spain and talking to people about a personal relationship we can have with God.

France07!

Hey friends

For those of of you that don't know, I had the oppotunity a while ago to join an all-staff outreach team from Perth to Europe and I felt like God was calling me there.

So I've been on outreach in France for just under a month now and it's been a real blast. We've prayed for about 220 people that had individual needs and witnessed to 169 people sharing about who Jesus is and what he's done for us. We've seen 3 instant healings and been apart of seeing many come to the Lord in outreaches and open-airs.

Of course I got to do lots of the tourist things on our days off. I cruised up the Eiffel Tower, acted like a hunchback infront of Notre Dame, cheered on the Tour De France, conqured the Lurve (with the Mona Lisa & lots of other famous museum stuff) and circled the Arc de Triumphe.

I'm literally living my dream. Travelling, meeting people, witnessing and being challenged in my walk with the Lord.

Perth Returns!!

I mean... I return to Perth... yes thats right.

Haha, well it's great to be back. I was kind of expecting some half nice weather - it is the sunniest capital city in the world! also the most remote capital city in the world too (for your information).

I'm slowly getting settled in. Working with the Property ministry around the YWAM base sites doing gerneral work until I get onto staffing a DTS in either July or October. Also I'll most likely be looking at starting the Basic Leadership School in July. I was a little bit worried about things here and there but God recently just spoke to me in Ps90 and helped me put things in perspective a bit. He will be the most efficient with my days because he is wisdom and has a far better plan than I do.

The house I'm in is great, really cosy and there's a good bunch of guys here.

That's a photo of me with all my luggage (inculding Saxophone and Laptop!). I was far over the weight but somehow I miraculously got it all through and safely here to Perth.

Easter Camp '07

Wow, what a fantastic weekend. We took 100 young people from our youth group to meet up with 3,200 other crazy people for a weekend of awesome speakers, good music, sports, mudwrestling, paintball, good food and heapsa fun. I went down as a leader with our youth group: 'Blueprint'. For 4 nights we were cold and tired but had such a blast. God really moved in alot of people there. One of the highlights was on Sunday morning when we had communion - everyone had their own individually named piece of bread and cup! we had it in community yet it was also quite personal.

Anyway this is me covered in mud, it was great...

Love it.

Work, Life & Love...

Well I've had a good two months to do things since I've last blogged and I really have done so much. Unfortunately I haven't taken a good amount of photos to compensate for lack of blogging in Feb & March so you'll have to bear with me a little....

This is where I work. We (me and Tom - yes Tom your photo is on my webpage. you look great!) cater for the 30 staff and BMW group (in Mt Wellington). It's great (isn't it Tom?)`

I also work at Eden Park making tonnes and tonnes of Coffees for all the raving Blues fans (we play lots of rugby over here)

Life also has been going great. yesterday I went caving with some friends. In one part, I climbed through 20metres of one foot of mud & water. the cave at that part was only 1&1/2 foot high! great a? told you life is going great.

(such a nice day a? why did we crawl underground for 3 hours on a day like that?)

Haha na but things are going real good, God is taking me on an amazing walk since being home - still bringing life's challenges but always supporting me with his abounding, unconditional love. I don't know where your at in your life but if things arn't going so well and life's pains are getting at you - Ask for His love. You will be overwelmingly suprised with the fullness and blessing that come with a life committed to loving and following Jesus.

Parachute Music Festival

Well I just returned from an absolutely fanstastic weekend of Christian Music from all over the world. Third Day, Hillsong, Shawn McDonnald, Thousand Foot Krutch, Rebecca St James, Joyce Meyer and many more joined together for one awesome 4day event.

I was also real blessed to meet up with Joel n Ruth (below) from our DTS in July. And got to see Amy too. Amazing time to catch up - felt real at home with you guys - thanks heaps!

A cool thing God spoke to me which I thought I'd like to share is basically this: "enjoy the journey". Alot of people (young people especially) get real stuck on looking foward to stuff - but they never really get to enjoy the here and now. There's no use getting frustrated beacuse we want more - God's a practical God and will totally provide for our needs. This morning He spoke this word in Ps 28: "the Lord is my Rock". A rock is a solid, constant foundation. You can always stand on a rock. That's what my God is like, he wants me to stand on Him for everything and ENJOY each step I take. God's good Amen?

Summer Holidays...

Upon returning home, I set out soon after to spend approx a whole month on facation! (that's why I haven't updated recently.) It invovled waterskiiing, lying on the beach, surfing, jumping off incredible heights, playing 80's volleyball, camping, eating fantasic meals, making camp fires and a whole lot more. It started off with a ten day road trip with my mate Lawrence (below) around parts of New Zealand.

We did some excellent waterskiiing (thats just me practicing)

And jumped off this!

Oh yeah, this was our crazy 80's volleyball tournement we played...

All n all a fantastic January and looking foward to what God has in store for Feburary. I'm looking at doing some cafe work and getting involved with church & friends again. Should be good. I miss you all from around the world. Looking foward to seeing you again.

I'M HOME!

Well New Zealand at last. What a journey I've had this year. The travel has been amazing: Hong Kong, China, Philippenes, Macau, Australia, Egypt & now finally New Zealand. From the heart of Hong Kong market streets to jumping off the Sky Tower in Macau. From seeing salvation in the 100's in the Phileppenes to studying the Cross in Perth with a bunch of young people from around the world. And from making friends on the Egyptian streets to proclaiming his name on the top of towers to playing football against the pyramid walls. God's totally faithful. And hes been taking me on an adventure this year that I am so thankful for.

But I guess the experience of the travel has only been one important factor of the year. Another huge one has been my growth as a Christian. This year I certainly learnt alot more about God. In finding more out about him, I've learnt so more about myself too. As I was saying the other day, we are made in his image so when we turn and face him we tend to also find out more about ourselves - kind of like a mirror. Expect the mirror of God is perfect. So when I gazed in there trying to find out what he wants for my life, I found my own imperfections staring back at me instead. So I let him continue to mould me. And I feel like in many ways he did. For example I learnt that He will always provide for my needs, he is such a trustworthy and reliable God and I have nothing to fear because I know He has the best for me. Another characteristic of God that I've learnt this year is that He is The Good Sheperd. His guidance is something that I've really grasped this year and at every turn, He hasen't failed. Because you know what? He is faithful to fulfill his promises.

In letting imperfections of mine change into learning to live out perections of His, God's released me into finding a greater depth of His love for me and for the lost in this world.

If you've got promises that He's made to you or talents that you know He's given you to bless others with or even if you've simply grasped onto the grace that He's freely given you, knowing that you can now live in freedom - don't let go of those. Becuase you know what? He is faithful to fulfill his promises.

It's been amazing to fly around the world and meet different people and it's great because I know that whatever country I go to, whatever city I'm in, I always have family because I know that there are Christians who have also been adopted into the Kingdom of God as I have. Returning to NZ has also been a blast seeing family and friends that I've missed so much. However admist my thoughts of here, HK, AUS, PNS & EGYPT and all the friends I've made along the way, I'm thankful. Because I know that God's got a plan and direction in store for each one of them which is far greater than their own. And weather or not that means our paths will cross again I know that He still has the best in store.

2006 has been an amazing year for me and can't wait to see what's instore for 2007.

The Harvest is PLENTY!!

Well, we've been here a week. What a crazy place this place is. So so so many people here it is rediculous. from 15 - 20 million! When I said the harvest is plenty. I meant it.

It is the 2nd most polluted city in the world. They wern't lying. much worse the Hong Kong. although less humid which is nice. it was 43C the other day. wow. we HAVE to wear pant, nice shirt shirt & shoes. in 43C. hmmmm?

The majority of the week was spent reading the Word out loud. As crazy as this sounds we actually read it aloud twice! in two different regions. There are a few priciples behind why actually we do this but a few scriptures come to mind.. 1Tim4:13 "devote yourself to the public reading of scriputre". It's also about laying a foundation of our time here routed in His Word. Many teams have been here before & all done it. So we are standing on all their shoulders, God's going to do big things.

He spoke to me the other day about standing in faith. Is7:9 "If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all". You know what thats saying?

GO HOME IF YOU DON'T HAVE FAITH!!

Faith is so key to seeing Him move.

After this he encouraged me with "Give thanks to the LRD, call on his name; make him known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted" - Is12:4. We went to a chch last night, I played Js Lver of my soul & our leader spoke for a bit about who we are & what we are doing. We built some friendships & made contacts. Really really nice people. Totally welcoming. very warm.

Our day off today & we are heading for a boat trip on the nile. Very relaxing. Exactly what we need after such a crazy week.

Goodbye Perth!!

Well, my adventures are concluded here in Perth & I'm off to my next stage.. Egypt. I was just doing a bit of self-reflecting time...

I learnt so much over my three months leccture phase. God's done an amazing amount of cleaning out crappy stuff in my life - repenting, forgiving, refreshing & renewing. He's also put alot in my life - vision, love, opening my eyes & seeing the world through more of His perspective. His heart loves the people of this world, yet breaks so much to see them not knowing him. It breaks when He sees Christian afraid to step up & be bold in their faith.

So I'm looking up and looking forward...

having to leave some tightly formed friendships...

taking the skills I've been equipped with...

and the many many fun memories...

and I'm ready to go!

Well, after some stressful days fundraising & busking, several billion emails and twice as many prayers, I finally got all my money for outreach!!! yay. God is good man.

Thank you to all that partnered with me. You all have an inheritance for the peoples lives in Cairo. Please pray that there would be transformation in the city & that God's love would be known to everyone there. Pray for salvations & for the people to be set free from the enemies strongholds in their lives & from their beliefs that they have to earn their way to God.

We are just finishing our week off on Missions lectures. It's been real interesting to learn about other religions & how Christianity compares to them. Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Animism, Communism & Humanism are some that we looked at. I'm totally facinated with all of them & would love to continue to find out more. There is such a huge contrast to their beliefs, particularly related to, religiosity & rules compared with the Christian message of love & forgiveness for their sins. Jesus offers a way that knowone or no other 'God' can offer. If only people could see that they don't have to be trapped & restricted but that they can have freedom in Christ! (man that felt good to type!)

- O by the way. (apologies for this update being the same as my email, but I felt like this is a time I want to remember in a blog too =) God is so good.

Mission: YWAM @ Perth

Well hello fellow peoples! Apologies for the ridiculously long time between the last time I posted. I broke my camera so it took ages to get fixed.. its all good now so Im back!

For those that dont know: I've been away from home 3 weeks now at a Discipleship Training School in Perth, Australia with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). It has been absolutely amazing so far.. I've had a huge period of growth and learning.. meeting new people, learning how to live here. All of us sleep in the same house.. 35 to be exact. Theres two huge dorm rooms for guys & gurls and a massive kitchen/dining area. KNOWONE keeps it clean! haha its soooo funny. dosent really bother me. of course Im completely innocent of the dirty house thing though =)

To the DTS guys: you guys rock! I've never met such a cool bunch of young people who are so on fire for God. Its awesome having late night conversations about God & his character. I'm really challenged in my faith and growth with God. Thanks for all the support & prayer for stuff. I really respect you all.

New Zealand: The place of fresh air and green grass

Well New Zealand has been clean, green & wild!! Two short weeks here before off to my next destination: Perth. I spent alot of time with family & close friends, just hanging out, catching up, praying, learning new things and sharing about what God's doing in each of our lives. I managed to get a short road trip in to Rotorua, Ryan's been here so he's been experiencing NZ to the fullest. Not to boast or anything but.. well yeah.. I shot a possum from 200metres. In between the eyes. Not bad aye? Bet you didn't know I could to that!

An exciting time @ church, seeing people and seeing their excitement. I got to do a testimony on the Sunday evening service and also got to preach on the Sunday morning youth service. Thanks to Jonesy & Q for sorting that.

Today has been slow and interesting. Interesting because its slow. & I remember everything being alot bigger than it is now. Somehow Hong Kong made NZ seem rather small! I caught up with some friends and even made my first fire in 6 months! Haha what do you think? Thats in our lounge.. i'll have to post some other photos of my house n sutff later.

Anyways just blogging cuz I feel so distant and this helps me feel like Hong Kong is just around the corner! I've gotta big dinner tonight with some of my extended family so gotta go. Love you guys,

Airport & 1st Day in AUCKLAND!!

Thanks guys for comming out to see me off.. It would have been very very painful to sit in the HK airport by myself for over an hour.. stuck with my thoughts and memories of everyone.

I arrived in a very very COLD Auckland airport, breathed in fresh air and chocked it straight back up again. to clean. Dad met me along with some friends. I was awake for a long 30 hours (having absolutely no sleep on the plane and watching very little TV. not a good flight). I thought it would be hard to sleep cuz of all my thoughts of you guys but it was surprisingly easy. (may have had something to do with the little sleep I had on the plane) I awoke 13 and a half hours later to a rediculously cold morning. In fact its just ALWAYS COLD! I wearing 4 thick layers in this picture:

O, I thought I'd take some photos of my place so you can see. This is my house, entranceway & pool. Not bad aye? (they are also for me cuz im not going to see them for another 6months!)

A little side note:
This is to Tom and any other Mac users:.. PC's suck! Seriously, I'm on one now trying to sort out this blog and its soooooo slow. and this is a good PC! I wish I was back on my nice quick G5, finished blogs and emails within 10mins. I've been on this thing for like an hour already!

Final Day in the Office

So I'm sitting here on my lonesome doing my last day in the office =( What a painful experience. I don't want to go. Joanne even just suggested - and I quote - "Why can't you just cancel your flight and stay?" Haha I wish! Yet its my time to go and thats kool. Theres a season for all things.

It's quite funny cuz I'm just chillin here sorting out my final stuff and the entire office isn't actually here! everyone's stressing about the wedding on Saturday or in meetings or whatever.

Anyway, I'm told that I've made an impact here so I'm going to take their word for it! Thanks to everyone in the office - my family. Love you all.

I braved getting through my last One_eighty last saturday night. It was tough to be there for the last time. I did a testimony which I was very grateful to Derek for giving me a huge 1 day heads up for knowing about it! (you love putting people on the spot don't you?) Anyway, I managed.

I ended up missing most of Derek's actual sermon (sorry man) cuz I was setting up for playing sax with Ben, Ephraim and Brett afterwards. It was awesome. You guys are amazing! Everyone loved it and really got into it.. So glad that I got the oppotunity to play again before I leave. Wish I had played it more!

Leaving The Vine...

The inevitable had to come. Sorry guys. As much as I don't want to leave I know its time to go. And its only a very short 13 days away! The above is an office leaving lunch (for me) which involved 11 office staff, a very very good cheese&bacon burger, speeches and gift giving. It was really touching to see how each person has contributed to my time here and how much I will honestly miss each one of them. You guys are amazing.

Honestly, talking about this more is going to make it even harder so I'll leave the goodbyes for when they need to come. Love you all.

Global Day of Prayer

I had an amazing day on Sunday at the Global Day of Prayer. 40,000 Christians gathered together in HK stadium to pray for Hong Kong, China and the world. The afternoon was awesome. I even got a special pass cuz I helped organise some stuff. I felt very offical. I even got to go in the VIP box where all the big shots sit when its the Rugby 7's!

The picture at the top is of the 2000 person choir with a cross in the middle. Not bad aye? Alot of their singing happened to be in Chinese (no kidding!)which was obviously a slight language barrier but they had translations which made it a bit better.

Anyway that's just a cool event I thought you'd might wana take a look at =)

Just recently I've been doing some intesne crazy outdoor stuff. Climbing vertical rock faces with rope, off-road mountain-biking, bushwaking, hours of treking and jumping off huge heights into rock pools. Over this time we actaully had sun! what a highlight. Man blue sky and sun is so good - something HK seriously lacks! Anyway heres some pics...

What an amazing two nights! The first night went well, people were saved, God came and did business with many. But listen to this. Way prayed that the 2nd night would be a totally new night and not to expect the same as the night before. We asked for more of God. We got it. Half way through our second dance, it started raining on stage! Literally raining, it felt like someone had opened up a whole in the roof and it was pooring outside. Anyway, we just kept dancing. It was amazing. It actaully looked and felt like it was planned. Some people got electric shocks after - cuz, well water and electronic stuff is not excalty a good mix.. so we risked our lives for the church!! haha nah, but still - What an awesome experience.

I was blown away with what happened next. I came back after getting changed and the entire place was estatic. Almost everyone was singing, half the crowd got on the stage and started mopping it up. If you were there you will agree - God showed up.

When I walked in, I felt something so unique. I wish I could write it in words.

Doing Spiritual Battle – My Testimony

Dumaguete, Philippenes - April 2006

The most I have ever learnt in the space of one week happened from the 13th to the 18th in April 2006. Dumaguete, Philippines. It’s hard even to begin to explain how mind-blowing the experience was so I’m just going to choose one significant event that happened to me and describe what I learnt about it..

After feeling totally drained from a morning of intense ministering of the Holy Spirit to the International Care Ministry staff (the people that were looking after us - kinda), we had a viewing of very graphical special-case patients (basically people with no skin, some with no limbs etc). I would usually be able to handle such a viewing relatively easily but this time was different. I wasn’t ready for such an intense morning, I started to feel sick. I didn’t tell anyone and tried to fight it off myself but it came to the point where I felt like i felt like i was being ripped apart from the inside out. Isn’t that such a good example of how we can’t do things in our own strength? Anyway, I started getting real emotional in the truck but because I was wearing glasses know one saw. I don’t know why I didn’t tell someone, something held me back. Finally Derek asked if I was all right and I said felt sick. He came over and began praying for me – I didn’t realize but a lot of the people in the truck also actually started praying - it was an awesome example of our unity as a team. Anyway as soon as Derek said, “in Jesus name - enemy be gone”, I was healed. Just like that, all the sickness feeling was gone. It was really amazing.

I learnt that the enemy is always waiting for a chance to attack us. I let my spiritual guard down and he attacked. Doing spiritual battle was intense; I found that there is so much power in the name of Jesus. Awesome things can happen when you call on His mighty name. Praise God!

Oh yeah, thats me on top of this house that we built! (although you can't see, that's actually prety high up!)

...and this is at one of our outreaches - we played to over 1000 people, it was awesome! The people there thought it was crazy that there was a white guy playing on stage, but I'm sure they thought it was great.

Wat another awesome weekend! I was soo tired on tuesday it wasent funny. I felt like a zombie. Rediculously busy weekend and All monday we had dance training with this hip-hop group called Revolve which is lookin good, they are real good. except by the end I was dead!

Hong Kong Rubgy 7's!!

Whooohoo! The 7's were unbelievable! My first time @ the 7's and man, it was amazing. especially the atmosphere- 40,000 people is crazy.

This is the stadium:

NZ lost in the semi's to Figi which was definately a low. We beat Aussie in the quarter finals and beat aussie in the woman's final which were both awesome games - so i ges they were high's.

Definately a highlight getting photos with all these people below.. man they are in good costumes: the queen, Pengiuns, cows, austin powers (man he looked so much like him, had the voice n everything), crazy belgium girls, annie as superman and native american indians.

All in all a crazy highlight in Hong Kong - never to forget.

Week 10 in Hong Kong. and man, things are going off!!

April is guna be crazy.. We got Planetshakers cuming on the 7th to do two concerts and Ps Paul Gearling's speaking in our night service, so cant wait. On the 13th we are leaving to the Phillipenes to do a missions trip for a week.. training is already well underway and we are getting real excited.

A while ago I stayed with John & Sandra (our senior pastors) ..their place was amazing!! My room was awesome this is the view out my window:

Wow!!! - not bad aye? Felt alot more like home there. Its funny cuz they live alot closer to the mainland and aparently theres alot more wildlife up there. Not once, but twice they have seen monkeys! One time they saw a monkey crossing the road - with perfect road sence, how wacked out is that?

This weekend is the Rubgy Hong Kong 7's.. cant wait, NZ better win. then again i know we dont really take the 7's very seriously =S we should. I'll post after the 7's with heapsa photos =)

Here I am, the most unlikely person to do a website/blog thing, and im sitting here writing my first "post".

Been in Hong Kong 6 weeks now! feels like yesterday I just arrived. (Those of you who live here will understand the pace of life here is crazy.. although your probably used to it...) People from Auckland - picture 50 Queen streets. yup. and then times the amount of people on that street in a usual day by 1000. yup. then times the pace at which everyone moves on that street by 100. yup. - But I think explaining it like that still dosent cut it.. I think my good friend Matt standing behind me puts it: "the pace of HK is like the speed of an english boy's diarrhea after going to india and eating a curry!"
